The recently rolled out National Education Policy has created quite a stir in all sections of society. The concerned government agencies have expressed the opinion that debates on the subject should take place in all sections of the society all over India. Keeping this in view, the Society is going to hold a web-panel-discussion on the subject, endeavoring to engage a large cross section of all stake-holders.
It may interest you to know that three organizations have joined hands to hold this meeting, viz. the Chandigarh chapter of the National Academy of Sciences, India, the Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh and the Society for Promotion of Science and Technology in India (SPSTI), a registered not-for-profit society, working towards popularization of science with the aim to inculcate scientific temper amongst public at large. We are likely to be supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Chandigarh Administration.
