Doubts and less exposure to the options in higher education cannot lead a child to success. Merely with words like arts, commerce, medical or non-medical, planning a career post-secondary education may harm the social structure of the nation. Most students fall or forced to choose their streams based on their marks or peer-to-peer reviews. This can lead him or her to qualify the course but couldn’t make a successful career thereof. So here it becomes necessary that we help students to identify their interests and then get them exposed to various career options.

Society for Promotion of Science and Technology in India, not-for-profit organization, has been working for science popularization since its inception. While visiting schools through outreach programs, it has been observed that there is a large gap between the understanding of core stream names and career options based on them. Keeping this in mind, the Mobile Science Laboratory – Circus of Science, catalyzed and supported by National Council for Science & Technology Communication, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has initiated a village intervention career awareness program in district Kurukshetra. To serve the purpose, it has collaborated with various educational institutions in the region. Doon Public School, Ladwa is one of them.

The first career awareness program was conducted on January 05, 2020, at Village Bapda, block Ladwa in Kurukshetra (Haryana). Prof. Vivek Sharma, a Chemistry Expert, who has been associated with the Society since 2011 has interacted with the students, teachers and parents in the village Bapda. He discussed all the aspects and career options for the students after secondary education. Prof. Sharma discussed NDA, JEE Mains & Advance, NEET, BITSAT, Olympiads, Common Law Admission Test etc. He also discussed some top institutions like IITs, IISERs, BITS, Nation Law University etc.

Consecutive seminars were conducted in various villages of district Kurukshetra:
