Circus of Science – Vigyan ka Jantar Mantar (Mobile Science Laboratory)

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, there is a situation of worldwide lockdown. In such a situation, the education of children is also negatively affected. While there is no provision to date for the opening of the schools, parents and teachers are also concerned about the education of children. In such a situation, it has also become a matter of challenge on how to keep children busy in educational work at home.

Society for Promotion of Science & Technology in India (SPSTI) has launched an academic engagement program for the students while being at home. The activity includes discussing problems faced due to the coronavirus pandemic and proposed solutions thereof.

An essay writing and poster competition have been organized under the ongoing Project Mobile Science Laboratory – Science of Jantar Mantar in the Kurukshetra district. The project is supported by the National Council for Science & Technology Communication,  Department of Science and Technology of the Central Government.

Rules & Regulations

Essay Competition:

  1. Language may be English or Hindi or Punjabi but not a mixture.
  2. The length of the essay should not exceed 1000 words.
  3. Figures or graphs should be limited to two.
  4. Give your own title and that should be related to “Covid-19: Problems & Solutions”.
  5. Essay on any topic other than the above mentioned shall not be accepted.
  6. Cash Prizes of Rs. 1000, Rs. 700 and Rs. 500 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
  7. All participants will get a Valid Digital Certificate of Participation.

Poster-Making Competition:

  1. The size of the poster should be A4.
  2. The posters have to be sent to us via email. Later, the original poster will have to be sent to us through post or we will notify for an event on Poster Display.
  3. Language may be English or Hindi or Punjabi but not a mixture.
  4. Any surface (plain paper, chart paper, flex, etc.) and any medium (crayon, poster colour, paint, print etc.) may be used.
  5. Cash Prizes of Rs. 1000, Rs. 700 and Rs. 500 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
  6. All participants will get a Valid Digital Certificate of Participation.

Eligibility:

Any Student of any class can participate in this competition.

The last date to send the essays and posters is May 10, 2020, after which no entry shall be entertained. The results shall be declared on or before May 20, 2020.
